If an example of installer team incompetence were needed, we can always go back to Adobe Acrobat Professional 8. Suppose you have to re-install that sucker from scratch and then bring it up to date: there are seventeen (17) separate updates that one has to apply incrementally, one after the other! 
There's no combo updater.
