I'm wondering if the installer for CS2 is having issues with Win 7 file structure. When CS2 came out, it was installed in C:\\Program Files. Well now that is the place for 64 bit programs, which CS2 isn't. It needs to be installed in "Program Files (x86). Normally Windows should catch this, but maybe something is going wrong, or whatever installer Adobe is using for CS2 isn't designed for Win 7. Maybe try and create a file folder of C:\\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2, and try and install it there. You also need to do this as an Admin, as Win 7 will not let you add stuff to the program files without admin access.
