Maybe in countries that have 1tb/second fiber but for the rest of the world progressive means incremental loads and you can see what is there instead of white space. As a web designer progressive is the only way to go. Even Instagram switched to progressive not too long ago.. That's why now you can see a tittle preview and it progressively gets to higher quality.
Is it important then... Hell Yes!

Re: Scrubby zoom in PS2017 get greyed out in one image while in the other one it is still working as always did
I have CC 2017 and a K2200 with three displays attached. I do not edit in tabs and do not know what you mean by by scrubby zoom being grayed out. I zoom via mouse wheel. If you tell me or better still show me a screen capture you highlight the grayed out scrubby zoom make sure you have the layers palette visible so I can see what you are currently targeting.

I've never had any issues printing them out. It's a client query. I'll be sending them off to print and then send those to the client so they can see they are fine.

I've processed what I need to and re-installed the latest Photoshop CC (2017) (When I uninstalled I chose not to save preferences).
When I tried to run Photoshop it stopped working at the splash screen with the same error that the previous version of 2017 did.

If it is still open, use CTRL-Z.
If not, then use a backup saved prior to the flattening.

Layer > Flatten image will flatten all files to a single layer. You are asking to "unflatten" and there isn't a command for that.
Start by looking at Window > History. Can you step backwards to the point in time prior to flattening all layers into one layer? If you click the Open snapshot at the top, does that do it? Or did you save and close the file, which removes history?
The only way to "unflatten" a single layer file to to painstakingly select each object and jump it to a new layer with Ctrl/Cmd J.
Flattening our only copy of a file is a mistake most of us have only made once.

Dicom deleted but Photoshop still stops working at the starting splash screen. Have tried with administrator rights and loading without optional and 3rd party plug-ins.

Hi,
Before I start could I just say that I have a very basic understanding of computers.
My computer is less than 12 months old, runs on Windows 10 64 bit, has intel i7 processor and a AMD Radon R9 Fury graphics card.
I bought it to handle image editing.
I have had the same issues since purchasing subscription to PS 2017 (4 days ago).
I was frustrated from the start regarding what appeared to be my total lack of ability to lay a mask over an image and then reduce/refine the edges with the brush tools. PS would not complete the edit and simply showed the wheel of death.
I ended up reading similar entries on this forum last night and came to realise that there appear to be a number of issues with the 2017 edition. One of the workarounds was to go back to the 2015 edition.
I have spent the best part of 2 hours today on line to an Adobe support rep. I had him view my screen and he saw the lag of 20- 40 seconds for a 1cm (on screen) mask edit of a low res Jpeg image. I was advised that there would be a lag and also encouraged to accept this as normal!
Luckily PS froze and he had to acknowledge that things were not correct. He kindly sorted out my memory allocation and did a few other things to try and resolve. It did not work.
He ended up installing PS 2015 as I had mentioned that other forum members had stated things returned to normal when they reverted to this version.
We tried that...... brush removed the mask area but it then reappeared 4 to 5 seconds later!
The support chap then said that he would raise this with someone as it is a system issue.
When I asked if he meant that it was an operating system issue he cut the chat dead!
So I am 4 days in. I have not been able to complete any work and still have a PS version which will not complete very basic tasks.
Thank you Support for your initial efforts but not impressed with "I'll tell someone" - don't know when and don't know who!
Guess the only certain thing out of all of this is that Adobe PS will continue to take my subscription fee.

Hi David,
Did you just update any component of the system? e.g Graphics Card or Hard drive/ Motherboard.
Please check if you have some update pending for Windows.
If Yes, please install them.
If you are using AMD Graphics Card, please install the latest driver.
